Managing an integrated multi-disciplinary design team to develop one of Sydney Ports Corporation's most valued assets
The situation
The Bulk Liquids Berth (BLB) is one of Sydney Ports Corporation’s most valued assets. The facility caters for most of the bulk liquids in the Sydney region and beyond. Due to high demand and high berth occupancy, a new facility was required to cater for the growing demand.
Our approach
Advisian has had extensive involvement in many facets of the BLB (both BLB No. 1 and the recent construction of BLB No. 2), commencing in the early 1990’s and still current at the present time, including the following projects:
- BLB No. 2: detailed design (project value $80M)
- BLB No. 1: berth upgrade – study to cater for vessels up to 90,000 DWT, detailed design and documentation
The results
Advisian managed an integrated multi-discipline design team including maritime, structural, civil, electrical, firefighting, water and wastewater experts to deliver this key project for Sydney Ports Corporation.
